Required coverage
Insurance Requirements
Renter shall obtain and maintain, at Renter's sole expense, the following insurance coverage for the full duration of the rental period, including load-in and load-out:
- Commercial General Liability insurance with limits of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate.
- Care, Custody, or Control (CCC) Legal Liability coverage (also referred to as property of others or rented equipment coverage) with a limit of not less than $35,000, covering damage to venue-owned and third-party equipment located at the Walter Gerrells Performing Arts Center, including but not limited to the permanently installed LED video wall and jukebox. This coverage applies whether or not Renter uses such equipment during the event.
- Carlsbad Live, LLC and the City of Carlsbad shall be named as Additional Insureds on Renter's policy.
- Renter shall provide a Certificate of Insurance evidencing all required coverage to Carlsbad Live, LLC before control of the facility is granted to Renter. Access to the venue will not be granted without a compliant certificate on file.
Responsibility for Damage
Renter is responsible for any damage to venue property and equipment, including the LED video wall and jukebox, caused by Renter or Renter's guests, attendees, vendors, or contractors, whether or not such equipment is used during the event. Renter's liability is not limited to the amount of insurance coverage required above.
